The British Red Cross offers a large selection of first aid courses. The most comprehensive first aid course offered by the British Red Cross to the general public is the Standard Certificate course. In addition to key life saving skills and response to common emergencies involving adults, children or infants, it also deals with common minor medical complaints. This course lasts approximately 28 hours. Students receive a credit card sized certificate that is valid for 3 years. The shortest first aid course offered by the British Red Cross is the Save A Life course, lasting approximately two hours. This course covers key adult life-saving skills including CPR and responding to choking.
